ข่าวต่างประเทศ - ประเทศนิคารากัวคว้ารางวัล Energy Globe World Award โดย นางมาธา เวโรนิกา โรชา (Mrs.Martha Veronica Rocha) ได้กล่าวคำขอบคุณอย่างมีความสุขหลายครั้ง จากการคว้ารางวัลรูปปั้นทองแดงหนัก 13 กิโลกรัม ให้กับองค์กร FUPROSOMUNIC ของเธอในการประกาศรางวัลที่สตูดิโอของสถานีโทรทัศน์ออสเตรียน บรอดคาสติ้ง คอร์ปอเรชั่น ซาลซ์บูร์ก (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation Salzburg) โดยมี นายวิลไฟรด์ ฮาสเลอร์ (Mr.WilfriedHaslauer) ผู้ว่าการเมืองซาลซ์บูร์ก นายไฮน์ซ เชเดน (Mr.Heinz Schaden) นายกเทศมนตรีปีเตอร์ เทิร์กซัน (Peter Turkson) พระคาดินัลจากคริสตจักรโรมันคาทอลิก และ นายวูลฟ์กัง นิวแมน (Mr.Wolfgang Neumann) ผู้ก่อตั้งรางวัล Energy Globe เป็นผู้มอบรางวัล

นอกจากนี้ ออสเตรียยังได้รับรางวัลในประเภท “Fire” ด้วย นายวูลฟ์กัง นิวแมน กล่าวว่า “โครงการเหล่านี้เป็นสัญลักษณ์ที่แข็งแกร่ง ซึ่งแสดงให้โลกเห็นว่าปัญหาด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมสามารถแก้ไขได้”

โครงการของนิคารากัว ซึ่งเป็นที่ชื่นชอบของคณะกรรมการผู้ตัดสินจากนานาชาติยังได้รับรางวัลในประเภท "Air" อีกด้วย ทีมผู้แข่งขันที่น่าจับตามองจากองค์กร Solar Project Foundation for Nicaraguan Woman (FUPROSOMUNIC) ได้สร้างเตาอบพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์สำหรับการปรุงอาหาร และอบแห้งผักและผลไม้ ตลอดจนทำตลาดผลิตภัณฑ์เหล่านี้ในตลาด โดยสมาชิกองค์กร "Solar Women" ทั้งหมด 700 คน ได้ฝึกอบรมผู้หญิง และเผยแพร่ความรู้ดังกล่าวในงานแสดงสินค้าต่างๆ ถึงแนวการป้องกันปัญหาสุขภาพ การตัดไม้ทำลายป่า และการส่งเสริมเรื่องพลังงานสะอาด รวมถึงการสร้างงาน การศึกษาและความมั่งคั่ง

ขณะที่บริษัท Produktions AG ซึ่งเป็นบริษัทสัญชาติออสเตรีย ได้รับรางวัลประเภท "Fire" จากกระบวนการเพาะปลูกสาหร่ายอันมีเอกลักษณ์ ซึ่งบริษัทปลูกสาหร่ายในแผงรับพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ (photovoltaic reactors) ได้นำสาหร่ายเหล่านี้ไปใช้ในการผลิตน้ำมันและเชื้อเพลิงชีวภาพ กระบวนการดังกล่าวยังเป็นการใช้พลังงานอย่างยั่งยืนและมีประสิทธิภาพอย่างเต็มที่

ส่วนบริษัท Ecovative Design LLC จากสหรัฐฯ คว้ารางวัลประเภท "Earth" จากกระบวนการที่ใช้พลังงานได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพสูง ในการผลิตเห็ดราที่ย่อยสลายได้ 100% ซึ่งสามารถรับประทาน หรือนำมาใช้เป็นปุ๋ยแก่ต้นไม้ได้

สำหรับสหราชอาณาจักร ชนะรางวัลประเภท "Water" โดย นายฟรานเชสก้า แมนไซนี (Mr.Francesca Mancini) นักออกแบบชาวอังกฤษ ได้พัฒนาวิธีการก่อสร้างบ้านแบบเรียบง่าย ที่ใช้น้ำเสียจากฝักบัวและอ่างล้างหน้าโดยตรง เพื่อใช้เป็นน้ำสำหรับชักโครก ซึ่งช่วยประหยัดน้ำได้ในปริมาณมหาศาล

โครงการ "Cans for Kids" จากองค์กรที่ไม่แสวงหาผลกำไรอย่าง Cyprus NGO ได้รับรางวัลประเภท "Youth" จากการทำงานอาสาสมัครของเยาวชนที่เก็บกระป๋องอลูมิเนียม บีบอัด และนำไปขาย แล้วนำเงินไปบริจาคให้โรงพยาบาลเด็ก โดยได้เงินถึง 260,000 ยูโร

ทั้งนี้ พิธีมอบรางวัลจัดขึ้นร่วมกับหน่วยงานประจำภูมิภาค และเมืองซาลซ์บูร์ก สถานีโทรทัศน์ออสเตรียน บรอดคาสติ้ง คอร์ปอเรชั่น ซาลซ์บูร์ก และหอการค้าออสเตรีย รางวัล Energy Globe Award เป็นรางวัลด้านสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดของโลก มีผู้เข้าร่วมมากกว่า 160 ประเทศ และมีการส่งผลงานเข้าร่วมมากกว่า 1,000 รายการ 

The Energy Globe World Award goes to Nicaragua! With a happy "Muchas Gracias" Martha Veronica Rocha received the 13 kg bronze statue for her organization FUPROSOMUNIC in the studio of the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation Salzburg. Salzburg Governor Wilfried Haslauer, Mayor Heinz Schaden, Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church Peter Turkson and Energy Globe Founder Wolfgang Neumann presented the award. Austria also excelled as a category winner in "Fire". Wolfgang Neumann: "These projects are a strong signal - they show the world that our environmental problems can be solved".

The Nicaraguan project, also winner in category “Air”, was the favorite for the International Jury. It combines environmental protection with social commitment. The protagonists of the Solar Project Foundation for Nicaraguan Woman (FUPROSOMUNIC) build solar ovens for cooking and drying fruits and vegetables and market the products. A total of 700 "Solar Women" train other women, propagate their knowledge at trade shows, prevent health problems, deforestation, promote clean energy and create jobs, education and prosperity.

The Austrian company ecoduna Produktions AG won in the “Fire” category with a unique algae cultivation process. In photovoltaic reactors they grow algae, from which valuable oils and bio fuels are obtained. The process is extremely energy efficient and sustainable.

The U.S. company Ecovative Design LLC made it in category “Earth”. In a highly energy efficient process fungi produce 100% compostable packaging, which are even edible and - disposed of in the garden – serve as fertilizers for plants.

United Kingdom won the category “Water” prize: the British designer Francesca Mancini developed a simple construction for households to directly use gray water from showers and sinks for flushing toilets – so enormous amounts of water can be saved.

The Cyprus NGO "Cans for Kids" won the race in category “Youth”. In voluntary work young people collect aluminum cans, press and sell them. The proceeds are donated to a children's hospital. 260,000 Euros have been already raised.

The ceremony was organized jointly with the Regional Government and the City of Salzburg, The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) Salzburg and the Federal Austrian Chamber of Commerce. The Energy Globe Award is - with over 160 participating countries and more than 1000 submissions annually - the world's largest environmental prize.
